And the Teams Are…
Here is the official bracket for the Smack Down bowling tournament coming up during Orange next week.

Scoring will be the average score for each team: score of all bowlers on the team divided by the number of bowlers.
Round 1: 4 teams (randomly selected) will compete against each other with the winner moving on to round 2. Round 2: 2 teams (winners from previous round) will compete with the winner moving on to the finals. (Bracket 1 vs. Bracket 2 and Bracket 3 vs. Bracket 4) Round 3: Remaining 2 teams will compete against each other to determine the winner. The winning team members will receive a Heather Grey XP3 (Wonder, Discovery Passion) t-shirt and the church will receive a $100 credit for XP3 video downloads!!! Round 1 will begin at 7p.m. so you need to be there as quickly after the last session as possible. You will be able to bowl a few frames as a warm up but not a full game (sorry, time restrictions). Bowling is free for our Smack Down participants but please keep in mind that all food and drink are on your own. Also, just a heads up… because Dave and Buster’s is technically a bar, you may need your ID to get in so please make sure everyone on your team has their ID with them. |

So, we’re doing something big next week. And I’m not talking about the conference….this is IN ADDITION to the great big event we’ll be hosting for more than 4,000 people.

April 15, 2010 – It’s Really Real
Chaos is a good word to describe all of our worlds right now among the Orange team. Our office is SUPER busy with ideas, preparations, deliveries, decisions, and all the other fun stuff that comes along with putting on an international event for over 4,000 leaders.
Today marked the beginning of the rehearsals for our vocalists that will be leading you all during the main sessions at Orange. Because we have video shoots and planning meetings going on in most of the prime space, these guys got stuck in the room that we affectionately refer to as “The Fishbowl.”
You can tell us after the conference if this set up helped or hindered their rehearsals….

April 8, 2010 – Details for the Smack Down
If you’ve seen any of our high quality videos (here and here) promoting the student ministry networking event on April 29, then you know that there is going to be some involvement of pins, strikes (hopefully), and edgy bowling shoes. We would love for you all to participate in this part of the networking event, so here are the details:
MOST IMPORTANTLY…there will be a prize for each person and each church participating on the winning team. Each person will win a heather-gray version of super-duper popular “Wonder, Discover, Passion / XP3″ t-shirt modeled above. And if that’s not enough, each church represented on the winning team will receive a $100 credit to the reThink store to be used for video downloads for the XP3 Student curriculum. Booya!
NEXT MOST IMPORTANTLY…
** Tournament will be bracket style with two or three rounds (depending on the number of teams that sign up).
** Teams will advance to the next round based on the average score of all team members from the previous round (Sum of individual scores / Number of team members).
** Teams must be 4-6 people, and they may be made up of people from more than one church or organization.
** Tournament participation is free. However, you are highly encouraged to invest in team bowling shirts as well as recording your best smack talking attempt and sending to our team members for a little public blog posting.
To enter your team, here’s what you’ll need to do…
1) Find a team (this is a good place to start).
2) Before April 20, send your team name, team captains’ name and email address, and names of the individuals on your team to Kristie McCollister at kmccolister (at) rethinkgroup (dot) org.
3) Get ready…
